Sawing Blue Stain Pine Lumber
I am sawing some of the popular Blue Stain Pine logs. Many of these have some interesting orange colors as well. This is turning out to be very beautiful lumber.
The pine blue stain comes from a harmless fungus that rides on a pine beetle. The fungus searches for the nutrients in the wood and feeds on that. It is harmless to the lumber but gives the wood a nice color.
I do not know where the orange comes from this time. But it sure is pretty.
The lumber I am sawing at this time is all 1 inch thick by random widths. The boards are all just over 8 feet long.
I am selling this for $4 per board foot. This comes to about 4 board feet per 6 in wide board.
I can also fill orders for Shiplap paneling and matching trim. Please let me know your needs. This is quite beautiful and rare wood.
